North Queensland Fire Protection is an independent fire protection company that can act as a consultant in many aspects of fire and safety relating to marine suppression and detection systems delivering foam, dry chemical, FM 200, carbon dioxide, halon and salt water mist extinguishers. We also design and install fire detection systems for buildings commercial and industrial to meet Australian Standards and the Building Code of Australia BSA. Our service department attends to all portable extinguishers that can be pressure tested and refilled when required on site or in our extinguishers workshop, with hose reels and hydrants tested are inspected on site. Staff fire training is also available on request of safety officer's requirements. North Queensland Fire Protection is also Australian and New Zealand distributor for Nofire Technologies manufactures of Intumescent coatings and fire retardant paint, these intumescent non toxic water based coatings can be applied to plasterboard, weather boards, cement sheeting and many other building materials by airless spray gun brush or roller. Nofire intumescent paint may require a primer if applied to steel columns or beams. Fire retardant coatings require to be a certain micron thickness to achieve the best passive fire protection result. Passive fire protection or intumescent coatings and paint if correctly applied will eliminate flashover and generates no flame spread, zero smoke development and zero toxicity. Staff training is available to paint contractors wishing to apply passive fire intumescent paint and coatings.
